Chaibasa Engineering College (CEC) was established in 2013 by the Government of Jharkhand under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with Techno India Group. It was earlier known as Techno India Chaibasa, then Government Engineering College Chaibasa (2014), before being renamed Chaibasa Engineering College in 2017.

CEC is located on NH-75, at Jhinkpani/Kelende near Chaibasa town, West Singhbhum district — spread across a 35-acre hilly campus.

Affiliated with JUT Ranchi (since 2018-19; earlier Kolhan University) and approved by AICTE, with NBA accreditation for its CSE and ECE departments, CEC offers B.Tech Lateral Entry admission into 2nd year across Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Civil, and Mechanical Engineering via JCECEB D2D counselling, alongside its regular 4-year B.Tech intake (60 seats per branch).
