Subject-wise Distribution
All five subjects carry equal weightage — 30 questions and 30 marks each. Syllabus is Secondary (Class 10) level.
Eligibility Criteria 2026

Class 12 Science Pass (PCB + English)
Candidate must have passed 10+2 / Intermediate examination in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognised Board — minimum 40% marks for General category and 35% marks for reserved categories.
Jharkhand Domicile Required
Only Indian citizens who are permanent or local residents of Jharkhand State can apply. A valid domicile/residential certificate issued by Anchal Adhikari or District Magistrate of Jharkhand is mandatory at counselling.
Age Limit — 17 to 35 Years
Minimum age 17 years and maximum age 35 years as on 31 December 2026 is required for GNM admission. Age relaxation may apply for reserved categories as per Jharkhand Government norms.
Both Male & Female Candidates Eligible
Unlike the ANM course (which is open to female candidates only), the GNM course is open to both male and female candidates, subject to fulfilling all other eligibility conditions.
Medical Fitness
Candidates recommended through counselling must produce a Medical Fitness Certificate issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner at the time of enrollment, otherwise admission will not be granted.
English as Compulsory Subject
English must have been studied and passed as a subject in Class 12 — this is a mandatory eligibility requirement specific to the Nursing (GNM) entrance, unlike most other JCECEB exams.

How to Apply Online — Step by Step

📝 Registration & Form Filling
Visit gnmcet.jceceb.org.in (or jceceb.jharkhand.gov.in) → Click 'Online Application for NECE (GNM) – 2026'. Fill Personal Details (Name, DOB, Gender, Category, Domicile, Aadhaar, Exam Centre Choice), Educational Details (12th Board, Year, PCB + English marks), and Communication Address. Set a strong password with at least one Capital Letter, one Small Letter & one Number.

Upload: Colour Photo (10–100 KB, JPG/JPEG, white background, both ears visible), Signature (5–50 KB, JPG/JPEG), Left-hand Thumb Impression (10–50 KB, JPG/JPEG). Preview all images carefully before final submission — edited photographs lead to rejection.
💳 Application Fee Payment
Pay online via Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI through the payment gateway. After successful payment, login to 'Applicant Login' and print your confirmation page for personal records. Fee is non-refundable. Do NOT send printout to JCECEB board office.
Documents Required at Interview / Counselling
Original documents + self-attested copies mandatory. Xerox/Fax copies alone will NOT be accepted.
Tie-Breaking Rules (Official)
If two or more candidates score equal marks, the merit rank is decided in this order as per the JCECEB NECE (GNM) Prospectus:
